Two-year-old boy rescued from kidnappers in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Saroornagar police have on Thursday rescued Abhilash, a two-year-old boy who was kidnapped on Tuesday, and arrested one person.
The arrested person, M Muthaiah (45), a labour from Marriguda Mandal in Nalgonda district had kidnapped the infant to bring him up as his own child, police said, adding that Muthaiah, who was married twice had no children and was deserted by his wives.
“He came for work at Saroornagar and found the child on the road, from where he picked him up and went to his house,” Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said.
Abhilash was reported missing from Kothapet in Saroornagar on Tuesday after being left near a road median by his mother Manjula, a beggar, who went to relieve herself at a nearby Sulabh Complex. When she returned, Abhilash was missing.
“She searched for him and when she could not find him, approached the police late in the night. Based on her complaint, a case has been booked and is being investigated,” the Saroornagar police, who formed two special teams and tracked the suspect with the help of footage from surveillance cameras at the junction and in the area.
The child was handed over to his mother.
