Umesh Thotakura stars as Hyderabad beat Puducherry in U14 cricket
Hyderabad defeated Puducherry by an innings and seven runs in the South Zone under-14 cricket tournament at Vizianagaram. Umesh Thotakura starred with match figures of 8 wickets, while Hyderabad’s batting was led by CV Chetan Aditya and Rakesh Sekhar
Hyderabad: Fine bowling by Umesh Thotakura, who claimed three for 32 and five for 16 in the two innings, helped Hyderabad score an innings and seven-run win against Puducherry in the South Zone inter-state under-14 cricket tournament at Vizianagaram on Thursday.
Batting first, Hyderabad scored 214 in 62.5 overs with G Rakesh Sekhar (43), CV Chetan Aditya (50) and Ritesh Reddy (44) being the main scorers.
In reply, Puducherry folded up for 95 and, forced to follow-on, put up another dismal show to be bundled out for 88 with ‘player of the match’ Umesh being the star performer.
Hyderabad now has 13 points from five matches.
