Khammam: Unable to face the BRS legislators in the Assembly the Congress government has suspended them from the House for the rest of the monsoon session, alleged former MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and former ZP chairman Lingala Kamal Raju.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday they informed that the week-long protests staged in Khammam district, following a call from the party working president KT Rama Rao, were successful in exposing the Congress government’s 1,000 days of deceptive rule.

Referring to the developments in the Assembly, the BRS leaders stated that the public had expected discussions to take place in the House on the issues such as farm loan waiver, fee reimbursement, pending scholarships and the Sitarama project.

However, the government turned the Assembly into an arena of chaos and injustice because it lacked the courage to address public issues or answer questions. The suspension of BRS MLAs; MLCs Naveen Kumar Reddy and Tata Madhusudhan was undemocratic and vindictive, they complained.

Veeraiah and Kamal Raju noted that the BRS party holds the Legislative Assembly and Speaker Gaddam Prasad in high regard. The opposition has the right to register protests in various forms on the opening day of the Assembly session and such a right should have been protected.

The Revanth Reddy government has set a bad precedent by calling to lay siege to the residence of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. While hundreds of goons marched to Erravalli the police remained spectators; provided escort to the Government Whips and agitators.

It was absolutely atrocious, uncivilised and inhumane for Congress MLA Veerlapally Shankar to wish for Chandrashekhar Rao’s death. Strict action should be taken against him and his legislative membership has to be revoked, they demanded.

Why the Ethics Committee failed to notice when Congress leaders like Kadiyam Srihari and Danam Nagender hurled arbitrary insults at BRS leaders in the past and only sees what the opposition says, Veeraiah questioned,

The party leaders Bellam Venugopal, Pagadala Nagaraju, Bommera Rammurthy, Bichyala Thirumalarao, H Prasad, Arempala Veerabhadram, Balusu Murali Krishna, Kodirekkala Francis, Saddam and others were present
