Unemployed youth stage protest in Hyderabad, demand notifications for 19,000 police vacancies
Unemployed youth staged a flash protest at Hyderabad’s City Central Library demanding recruitment notifications for 19,000 police vacancies and other government posts. They sought relaxation in age limits, scrapping of GO 46 and GO 29, and warned of continued protests.
Hyderabad: Demanding the State government notify all 19,000 vacancies in the Police department, unemployed youth organised a flash protest at City Central Library, Chikkadpally, here on Thursday. The protesters also wanted release of notifications for recruitment to vacancies in other government departments.
Protesters, with placards demanding scrapping of GO 46 and 29, squatted on the ground inside the library premises. They alleged that the Congress government, which came to power with the support of the unemployed youth, has now been neglecting recruitment.
Protesters asked the Congress government whether it only notices student protests in Delhi, while ignoring the issues faced by the unemployed in Telangana.
The unemployed youth demanded relaxation in the upper age limit for SI and Police Constable recruitment besides calling for release of notifications, including a mega DSC, Group – I , II, III and IV. They warned that they would continue with their protest until the government makes a statement regarding the recruitments.
