Hyderabad: BRS leader A Rakesh Reddy on Friday accused the Congress government of neglecting unemployed youth, while focusing on publicity programmes. He also demanded clarity on job notifications during the upcoming Assembly Budget session.

Addressing a press meet at Telangana Bhavan, Rakesh Reddy said the Congress government’s 99-day action plan under Praja Palana-Pragathi Nivedika, did not include any discussion on unemployment.

He said promises made in the Congress’ Youth Declaration during the 2023 Assembly elections, including filling two lakh jobs annually through a job calendar, were not delivered.

The BRS leader stated that there was no progress even after the formation of a syllabus committee for recruitments and criticised the delay in issuing notifications. He also condemned the lathi-charge on unemployed youth during a protest in Dilsukhnagar, accusing the Congress of betraying those who voted it to power.

He questioned the absence of an Education Minister in the State, leading to poor conditions in government educational institutions and weakening the fee reimbursement scheme.

Demanding immediate announcements on job notifications, GO 46 and issues related to licensed surveyors, he warned that the BRS would launch an agitation if the government failed to respond.
