Activists of the BC Welfare Association staged a protest in Karimnagar on Sunday, burning copies of GO 46 and accusing the State government of betraying the Backward Classes by reducing their reservation in local body elections from 42 per cent to 22 per cent. The protesters alleged that the Congress government had broken its manifesto promise and damaged the community’s political future.

Interacting with job aspirants who came to meet him at Telangana Bhavan here, he said the previous BRS government took a decision to amend GO 46 following requests from the aspirants, but could not take any action due to the election code.
The unemployed youth claimed that their six-month-long protest has been ignored by the CM, who promptly took action in Kumari's case in a sharp contrast with the lack of attention given to their concerns.
The delegation appealed to the Chief Minister to exclude the Code Number 24 TSSP (5000). They also briefed the Chief Minister about the plight of the unemployed youth and urged him to render justice to the merit students by declaring the results according to CD1 and CD2.
