Hyderabad: An allocation of Rs 300 crore has been made for the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Hyderabad for the financial year 2022-23, in the union budget estimates presented on Tuesday.

These budget estimates were allocated under the object head grants for the creation of capital assets.

For 2021-22, the budget estimates for the IIT-Hyderabad were Rs 150 crore, while the revised estimates were Rs 230 crore.

Similarly, the union government earmarked Rs 40 crore for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Tribal Universities in the budget estimates for 2022-23.

This was earmarked under grants for the creation of capital assets. During 2021-22, the budget estimates for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Tribal Universities were Rs 50.5 crore and the revised estimates were Rs 9.74 crore.
