Union minister Bandi Sanjay demands immediate funds for gram panchayats
Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar has demanded that the Telangana government release funds to gram panchayats within a month, warning of a mass agitation if delayed under the pretext of the model code of conduct.

Karimnagar: The Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar demanded that the state government sanction funds to gram panchayats (GPs) within one month. Otherwise, a huge parade would be organised along with newly elected sarpanches, deputy sarpanches and ward members in Hyderabad.
Moreover, the government should hold MPTC, ZPTC and municipal elections only after releasing funds, he said and warned of wage agitation if the state government tries to delay the sanction of funds on the pretext of a model code of conduct.
The Union minister made these comments while participating in the felicitation of newly elected sarpanches, deputy sarpanches and ward members held here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said top priority would be given to the development of 108 gram panchayats wherein the BJP candidates were elected as sarpanches. At the same time, priority would also be given to other GPs under his parliamentary constituency. Besides MPLADS, CM’s assurance funds would also be utilised to take up various developmental works.
Stating that he was giving top priority to health and education, the Union minister assured sanction of RO water plant to each village besides constructing toilets in schools.
