Hyderabad: Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy has urged the GHMC and HMWSSB top brass to resolve civic issues raised by the secretary, Sri Venkateswara Colony Welfare Associations, through representations.
The representations highlighted concerns, including the laying of CC Roads and the removal of existing footpaths. It was stated that the existing road level is higher than that of adjoining residential colonies, resulting in frequent water stagnation and waterlogging during the rainy season.
The representations also raised waterlogging, sewage, and seepage issues in Sri Venkateswara Colony. Residents reported continuous waterlogging, leading to seepage of water into nearby residential premises and causing inconvenience and damage to affected households.
They urged the construction of suitable rainwater harvesting borewells and other necessary measures to facilitate proper percolation and drainage of accumulated rainwater.
The Union Minister, who responded to two representations received from the secretary, Sri Venkateswara Colony Welfare Associations, Dr Srikanth, forwarded them to GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan and HMWSSB Managing Director K Ashok Reddy on Wednesday.
