Sangareddy: Unscheduled power cuts had their impact even in providing treatment at government hospitals in Sangareddy.
When the emergency ward received several patients injured in an accident, there was no power supply in the hospital to treat them and conduct tests such as CT scans and others. The incident left the patients and their kin shocked.
At least 20 passengers sustained injuries as an RTC bus hit a stationary truck near Kandi under Sangareddy rural police station limits on Saturday evening.
The passengers accused the driver of the RTC bus of driving the vehicle, which had 60 passengers on board, negligently. The passengers further complained that the driver almost hit a two-wheeler near Shivampet.
The bus was heading to Patancheru from Medak when the incident happened on NH-65. The injured were rushed to the government hospital in Sangareddy, where the unscheduled power cut caused great inconvenience.
The accident resulted in a massive traffic jam, which the police took more than a couple of hours to clear. The police registered a case and took the driver into custody.
