Unseasonal overnight rains remain active in Hyderabad and multiple Telangana districts

Unseasonal rains continued across Telangana, with Hyderabad and Nalgonda witnessing heavy overnight showers. Hyderabad recorded up to 42.8 mm of rainfall in Bahadurpura, while Nalgonda’s Chandampet reported the state’s highest at 70 mm.

Hyderabad: Unseasonal rains continued to remain active across Telangana, with a significant amount of overnight showers widely being reported in Hyderabad and Nalgonda districts.

Between Monday evening and early hours of Tuesday, several parts of Hyderabad received a maximum rainfall of up to 42 mm, while in Nalgonda district, a few places reported 70 mm of rainfall, according data from Telangana State Development Planning Society (TGDPS).


In Hyderabad, a moderate spell of rain occurred between 3 am and 4 am on Tuesday, primarily affecting the southern and western corridors. Data from the TGDPS (GHMC limits) indicated that the highest local rainfall of 42.8 mm was recorded in Suleman Nagar, Bahadurpura. Other notable areas included 38 mm in Rajendranagar, while several regions across Bandlaguda received 12.5 mm to 21.8 mm.

In districts, by Tuesday morning, Chandampet in Nalgonda district received the state’s highest rainfall of 70 mm. Some of the other locations in Nalgonda district that received heavy rainfall include Polepally and Nakrekal, where rainfall was measured as 61.5 mm and 51 mm respectively.
