Heavy rains lashed Hyderabad on Friday evening, with Shaikpet receiving the highest rainfall at 19.3 mm. Several localities reported moderate to heavy rain. While Himayatsagar received steady inflows of 250 cusecs, Osmansagar remained dry due to no rainfall upstream.

Between Thursday evening and Friday morning, Mahadevpur in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district received an extremely heavy downpour of 207 mm of rain, which is the highest in Telangana for this year.
According to TGDPS data, the city received 154.6 mm of rainfall this June, surpassing the normal range of 111.4 mm by 39 per cent, thus categorizing it as an area of ‘excess’ rainfall.
Looking ahead, the weather forecast indicates that temperatures will remain between 31 degree Celsius and 33 degree Celsius over the next 48 hours, along with cloudy skies and light to moderate rainfall.
