Mancherial: Several parts of the district saw rains and hailstorms, causing some damage to agriculture crops on Friday.
Mancherial, Jannaram, Jaipur and Chennur mandals of Mancherial district and Narnoor of Adilabad district registered moderate rains, somewhere between 15.4 mm and 64 mm. Dandepalli, Luxettipet, Nennal, Naspur and Hajipur mandals witnessed light rains. Tiryani mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district recorded the light to very light rains.
Due to the untimely rains, standing cotton, maize, and red gram crops and mango, which was at flowering stage were affected. Farmers requested the authorities of the agriculture department to carry out a survey of crop damage caused by the showers. The rains resulted in the decline of minimum temperatures of the district.
