According to a communication received from the Ministry of Education, President of India in his capacity as the Visitor of MANUU has appointed Prof Hasan for a five-year term
Hyderabad: The Centre on Friday appointed Dr Basuthkar J Rao as the Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Hyderabad and noted Persian Scholar Prof Syed Ainul Hasan as VC of MANUU. Presently, Dr Rao is working as a senior professor and chair of Biology and Dean Faculty at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati. Earlier, he worked as senior professor at the Department of Biological Sciences at TIFR Mumbai.

Prof Hasan is a Professor in Persian & Central Asian Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Earlier, he served as the Dean, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, JNU. He is also the president, All India Persian Scholars Association and has more than 34 years of teaching experience and guided 87 research scholars, the MANUU said.

Meanwhile, the Centre appointed Prof Battu Satyanarayana as Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Karnataka for a tenure of five-years. Prof Satyanarayana retired as Professor in the Department of Chemistry at University College of Science, Osmania University (OU) in 2019. He held various administrative positions including Dean, Faculty of Science, Mahatma Gandhi University and Satavahana University, head Department of Chemistry and chairman Boards of Studies of Chemistry and Forensic, Osmania University and Executive Council Member of University of Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Osmania University on Friday announced first semester regular examination schedule for various undergraduate courses. The exams of BA (CBCS) will be conducted from August 5 to September 1, BBA (CBCS) from August 5 to 13, BSW (CBCS) from August 5 to 11, BCom (CBCS) from August 5 to 13, BCom (Hons) (CBCS) from August 5 to 13, and BSc (CBCS) from August 5 to 30.
