UoH’s ASPIRE selected for Startup India Seed Fund Scheme

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) Section-8 company ASPIRE has been selected as one of the incubators under the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme. Startup India, an initiative of the Union government envisages building a robust start-up ecosystem in the country for nurturing innovation and providing opportunities to budding entrepreneurs, according to a press release.
According to the UoH, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade had created an Experts Advisory Committee (EAC) to execute and monitor the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme. The incubators selected by the EAC are provided grants of up to Rs.5 crore each.
In turn, the selected incubators will provide up to Rs.20 lakh for validation of proof of concept, prototype development, and product trials to startups. The UoH is one of the first universities to create a vibrant innovation ecosystem in the country and hosting more than 45 startups on the campus, it added.
