Hyderabad: Businesswoman and actor Ram Charan’s wife, Upasana Konidela, opened up about how her family handles disputes, especially issues related to the family business and generational wealth.

Speaking in an interview with social media influencer Masoom Minawala, Upasana said, “Us being a family business and a business family, we have a family constitution written down. We refer to it so there are no fights over wealth. Wealth should never be the cause of a fight within a family.”

She also mentioned that her family has introduced a tradition of playing ‘Secret Santa’ to bond better. “We started playing Secret Santa with 38 people, and now we have 44,” she added.

Upasana, who serves as Vice Chairperson of Apollo Life, explained that the constitution was written by her grandfather, Dr. Pratap C. Reddy, the co-founder of Apollo Hospitals. She further added that while her family might fight over small things, the major matters are all addressed and handled by her grandfather.

The businesswoman also discussed her experiences with sexism, both at work and at home, and how she has dealt with them. She emphasized the importance of finding solutions through an organized approach. She also shared that she relies on a life coach if she is unsure about any solution. “I write things down, find solutions, check everything once again to see if I’m happy with it, and then bounce it off my life coach if I’m not confident,” she said.
