UPC Volt to set up 100 MW AI-ready data centre in Telangana
Telangana has secured major international investments at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos. UPC Volt, a joint venture between UPC Renewables Group and VOLT Data Centers, will establish a 100 MW AI-ready data centre alongside a 100 MW renewable energy facility, with an investment of Rs 5,000 crore over five years.

Hyderabad: UPC Volt, a joint venture between Netherlands-based partners UPC Renewables Group and VOLT Data Centers has come forward to establish a 100 MW AI-ready data centre in Telangana, supported by a matching 100 MW RTC renewable energy project facility.
The proposed investment of Rs 5,000 crore over five years, is expected to create more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and over 800 direct and indirect jobs during operation. An MOU was signed to this effect during WEF 2026, Davos.
Meanwhile, Schneider Electric India said it would invest Rs.623 crore to expand its existing Gagillapur and Shamshabad facilities in Telangana, enhancing capacity for electrical safety products such as Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB), contactors, and push buttons.
The Telangana delegation in Davos also signed an MoU with UK-based multinational education and publishing company Pearson to expand its presence in AI skilling and credentialling in the State, according to a press release.
