Upload paddy procurement details: Harish Rao to officials
Minister observed that the staff at procurement centres were not uploading the paddy procurement details though they were given tabs to upload the particulars
Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday said the State government had set aside Rs 26,000 crore for paddy procurement in the State.
Addressing officials at a review meeting on the progress of paddy procurement in Siddipet district, the Minister directed the officials working at grass-root level to update the paddy procurement details. He said they have to put a system in place to deposit the amount in bank accounts of farmers within 24 hours after the paddy is purchased
Harish Rao observed that the staff at procurement centres were not uploading the paddy procurement details though they were given tabs to upload the particulars. Stating that they have acquired 40,000 tonne of paddy against the expected paddy of 5.4 lakh tonnes for this Yasangi, Harish Rao has said that they had an understanding with 51 rice mills in the district.
Since they were expecting a huge flow of paddy into procurement centres, Rao has instructed them to be prepared to meet the needs. Alerting them about hailstorms, Rao has said the harvested paddy must be protected from rain.
He has asked them to ensure the enough supply of taurpalins, gunny bags and transportation facilities. Collector Siddipet P Venkatrami Reddy, Additional Collector Muzammil Khan, District Agriculture Officer Sravan Kumar and others were present.
