Hyderabad: In another major embarrassment for the Hyderabad Cricket Association affairs, the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium turned dark on Wednesday with transmission corporation authorities disconnecting the power supply over pending bills.
The HCA has to pay a whopping Rs 3.05 crore as power dues. With the association failing to clear the dues, the authorities of the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana State Limited, Habsiguda Circle, got into the action. The officials of the HCA were served with a notice on December 6, 2021 mentioning the dues of Rs 1.41 crore and a surcharge of Rs 1.64 cr.
“It is to inform that the amount of Rs 3,05,12,790 (due 1,41,18, 269 + surcharge 1,63,94,521) was outstanding against service connection no. HBG2192 M/S Hyderabad Cricket Association with regard to energy theft case against which you have filed suit in the court of the Additional District Judge, Ranga Reddy district vide 4th cited which was disposed on 13-06-2018 stating ‘Dismissed for Default’. Hence you are requested to arrange the payment of the above CC charges dues within 7 days from the date of receipt of the notice, failing which your service will be disconnected without further notice and cooperate with TSSPDCL,” said the notice.
