Nirmal: Minister for Forest and Environment Allola Indrakaran Reddy advised farmers on Sunday to utilise paddy procurement centres arranged for purchasing their produce.
Inaugurating a centre at New Sangvi village in Mamada mandal, Indrakaran Reddy said the government was striving hard to provide irrigation facilities to farmers besides supplying uninterrupted quality power for agriculture needs round the clock. It also extended Rythu Bandhu scheme, an investment support initiative aimed at helping farmers buy seed and fertilizers. It is committed to the welfare of the agrarian community, he remarked.
The Minister further said that the government came up with the procurement centres for avoiding inconvenience to farmers in selling their produce and for offering minimum support price. He stated that fine quality paddy would be paid Rs 1,888 per quintal and Rs 1,868 for the produce fall in B category. He requested the growers not to approach middlemen and to register losses.
