Suryapet: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday demanded the arrest of all those having links with the spurious seeds racket that was exposed in Chinthelapalem.
Speaking to the media, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that some influential people were involved in the spurious seeds racket, but the police had not even questioned them. The Government should initiate stringent action against them irrespective of their political associations. He reminded that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had earlier called for invocation of provisions of Preventive Detention Act against such people. The Chief Minister should prove his sincerity by asking police to invoke the act provisions now in Chinthelapalem spurious seeds case also.
The police should immediately arrest all those who have links with the spurious seeds case, otherwise the Congress would take up agitation, he added. Stating that he would strive for development of Huzurnagar, he expressed objection over works to be taken up with his MPLADS funds in the agenda of the municipal council meeting. He said he would talk with the district Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy on the matter. The district collector was releasing the municipal funds on the pretext of emergency purposes without the approval of municipal council and it was nothing but taking away the rights of the urban local body. He urged the state government to complete the works of 4,000 houses which were taken up at Huzurnagar.
He said that Huzurnagar municipal council must meet once in every month to discuss the issues and take decisions. At the same time, transparency should be ensured in spending of municipal funds, he added.
