Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy slammed Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for allegedly failing to fill vacant posts in various departments of the State government.

The 11-member Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), the constitutional body which conducts exams for recruitments to State services, now has just two members,” he said in a statement issued here on Wednesday. The TPCC Chief said it was not possible for the TSPSC to issue job notifications or hold interviews and it could not adhere to quorum norms in Commission meetings.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that it was “ridiculous” on the part of the Chief Minister to announce that the State government would recruit 50,000 people in different departments despite knowing the fact that the TSPSC was not fully functional due to huge vacancies.

Meanwhile, Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said a delegation of the party was touring the State only to gauge the problems faced by different sections and not to garner support for the MLC elections.

Conducting Padayatra in Devarkonda constituency here on Wednesday, the CLP leader demanded that the State Government set up and operate agriculture produce procurement centres.
