Hyderabad: Telangana is all set to achieve the milestone of having administered Covid-19 vaccines to one crore individuals since the launch of the Covid vaccination drive in the country on January 16.

As on Wednesday, 96,51,844 individuals in Telangana have received either the first dose or the second dose of the Covid vaccine. According to Director of Public Health Dr G Srinivasa Rao, the number of individuals to receive either first or second dose of Covid vaccine will touch the one crore mark in a day or two.

Dr. Rao said one unique aspect of the Covid vaccination drive in Telangana was that a majority of individuals who received the vaccine in government Covid vaccine centres were either healthcare workers, senior citizens, individuals above 45 years with co-morbid conditions and persons belonging to high-risk groups like cab and auto drivers, food delivery staff, labour employed at vegetable and kirana shops, Rythu Bazaar and meat markets.

Out of those who have received the Covid vaccine here, 15,90,546 have received both doses while the remaining 80,61,298 have received the first dose. In the 18 to 44 years category, so far, 29,44,520 have received the first dose while 14,144 individuals have completed both doses.
