Valluri Babu, Juhitha Guna strike gold at Commonwealth weightlifting

Valluri A Babu of Vizianagaram won gold in the 79 kg category, while C Juhitha Guna of Rajamahendravaram clinched gold in the 69 kg women’s event at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship

Hyderabad: Valluri A Babu of Vizianagaram clinched gold in the 79 kg category with a combined effort of 335 kg (snatch 152 kg, clean and jerk 183 kg) in the Senior Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

In the women’s section, C Juhitha Guna of Rajamahendravaram also won gold in the 69 kg category.
