Khammam: Green crusader Vanajeevi Ramaiah and a rights activist-Miss Photogenic-2021 title winner Mohammed Farah have been appointed as brand ambassadors for Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC).
The duo was made the brand ambassadors of the KMC to create awareness on the harms of single use plastic, segregation of dry and wet waste, cleanliness as part of Swacch Sarvekshan-2022, said a release here on Friday.
City Mayor P Neeraja, Municipal Commissioner Adarsh Surabhi along with Ramaiah and Farah released publicity posters of wet and dry waste segregation, home composting, greenery-hygiene, plastic ban and Safai Mitra.
The Municipal Commissioner said that steps would be taken to involve citizens in the cleanliness drive, to make Khammam a clean city and to make it stand at top position in the country in Swachh Survekshan-2022.
Ramaiah and Farah were felicitated on the occasion. Deputy Mayor Fatima Zohara, Assistant Commissioner, Environmental Engineer, Sanitary Inspectors and others attended the event.
