Varsha Thirupothu wins under-15 girls event at UBS Athletics Kids Cup

Varsha Thirupothu of Satyam International School won the girls under-15 event at the UBS Athletics Kids Cup in Hyderabad. Telangana ministers attended the inaugural, while athletes from schools across the State excelled in long jump, throw and sprint events

Hyderabad: Varsha Thirupothu of Satyam International School (Meerpet) won the girls under-15 event in the UBS Athletics Kids Cup at GMC Balayogi Stadium (Gachibowli) here on Friday.

Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu, Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari and SATG Chairman Shiva Sena Reddy graced the inaugural.


Matthais Schacke, Head of UBS India ServCo and GOTO India, Daniel Schenker, CEO of DS Powerparts, and Petr Stastny, CEO of Diamond League, extended their support and encouragement, reinforcing the importance of structured youth sports development.

The results (combined long jump and throw, 60m):

Boys Under-15: 1. T Srikanth (Sri Gangotri PS, Shaikpet), 2. Sameer Hussain Syed (Bright Concept HS, RR), 3. Rahul Shetty (Gauthami Techno School, IDPL).

Boys Under-14: 1. M Harshith (Pallavi Model School, Boduppal), 2. Ayaan Khan Mohammed (Pallavi Model School), 3. Suraj Kumar (St Thomas HS, Medchal).

Girls Under-15: 1. Varsha Thirupothu (Satyam International School), 2. Sahithi Prudhvi (MNR HS, Chandanagar), 3. Parveen Zeba (Govt HS, Amberpet).

Girls Under-14: 1. Bista Srijena (Nagarjuna Grammar HS), 2. Panuku Pranavi (Sloka Waldorf School, Aziznagar), 3. G Bhuvaneswari (Krishnaveni Talent School, Saroornagar).
