Nalgonda: A veterinary assistant surgeon of the government veterinary hospital at Chintapalli of the district was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials when he demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs. 6,000 from a farmer to issue health and valuation certificate for 8 buffaloes on Monday.
According to reports, the veterinary assistant surgeon, Dr. Paul Joseph Goutham, demanded Rs. 6,000 from a farmer to issue a health and valuation certificate for his buffaloes. The farmer told the doctor that he does not have money to pay him and requested him to issue the certificate. However, the veterinary doctor made it clear that he would issue the certificate only when the farmer paid him the money.
On suggestion from villagers, the farmer approached the ACB personnel, who laid a trap and caught the doctor red handedly. The doctor was presented in the ACB court and sent to judicial remand.
