Hyderabad: The second song from the upcoming crime comedy ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’, ‘Vevela Oohale Chupina’, was released by filmmaker Anil Ravipudi on Wednesday.
Presented by Donepudi Chakrapani and produced by Venu Donepudi under the Chitralayam Studios banner, the film is directed by Guni Manchikanti. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 9.
The film stars Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, George Maryan, Akshay, Karthikeya, Vismaya Sri, Malavi Malhotra, Kashyap, Raja Ravindra, Aneesh Kuruvilla, Kadambari Kiran and others.
‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ has been shot entirely in Meghalaya, including locations such as Cherrapunji. The makers claim it is the first South Indian film to be shot completely in the northeastern state.
The newly released song has lyrics by Kittu Vissapragada and vocals by Shrri Sagar. The song has a retro treatment and plays against an action sequence involving the protagonists and a villain gang.
According to the film’s plot, a gang is searching for a rare box that it believes is in the possession of the hero and heroine. The protagonists come under the gang’s watch, leading to a gunshot and an exchange of fire, against which the song unfolds.
Producer Venu Donepudi said the teaser and the first song, ‘Aaja Meri Jaani’, had received a good response and expressed hope that the new song would also connect with audiences.
He said post-production work was in the final stage and that the film was completed in Meghalaya with careful planning and the support of the director, actors, technicians and other crew members.
