Vikarabad woman dies by suicide; family alleges harassment by husband
A 21-year-old woman from Vikarabad district died by suicide on Wednesday night, with her family alleging she was harassed by her husband since their marriage six months ago. Police said the harassment may have led to depression. A case has been registered.
Hyderabad: A newly married woman died by suicide at Vikarabad district due to the alleged harassment of her husband on Wednesday night.
The woman, Sirisha (21), a resident of Dharur mandal in Vikarabad got married to Shiva Lingam, a resident of Pargi mandal in the Vikarabad district six months ago.
The family members of the woman told the police that since the time of marriage Shiva Lingam was harassing his wife on some or the other pretext. The woman slipped into depression over it and might have ended her life, said the police.
A case is registered.
