Medak: Residents of Pothansettipally staged a protest on the Medak-Hyderabad road, braving heavy rain, alleging that Mission Bhagiratha officials had failed to connect a newly built overhead water tank to the Mission Bhagiratha pipeline.
As part of the protest, the villagers also cut the pipeline passing through the village. The residents said the water tank was built by officials to supply drinking water to a section of the village, but it was not connected to the pipeline.
The residents said they had been struggling for years due to a lack of drinking water and had repeatedly urged officials to connect the pipeline to the tank, but their appeals received no response. They added that they were forced to purchase water from a private borewell in the village.
Irritated by what they alleged was the officials’ continued inaction, the residents staged the protest on Sunday.
