Hyderabad: The Vinayak Chaturthi festivities in the city will commence this year on September 10 and conclude with idol immersion on Ananth Chaturdashi on September 19.
The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi said required care will be taken during the 10-day festivities and all the Covid-19 protocols and guidelines will be followed.
Speaking to press persons here on Saturday, Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi general secretary, Bhagwanth Rao said the pandals will adhere to the safety protocols and guidelines issued by the government in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. Like last year, the festivities and idol immersion will be held while maintaining guidelines including social distancing, he said.
The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi will open its office on July 23. Rao appealed to the pandal owners to ensure that the protocols were in place and that devotional and patriotic songs are played at the pandals and during idol immersion.
The Utsav Samithi urged the government to provide raw material for the idols in time. The GHMC was requested to take care of the required road works by idol immersion day.
“Don’t compete over height of the idols at pandal but focus on ensuring the Covid-19 protocols and guidelines,” Rao appealed.
