To inspire the next generation of explorers, the teachers of class VII of Pallavi Model School, Bowenpally provided the students the experience of travelling to the Space Station virtually.
Virtual field trips provide an additional path to learning and are one of the most effective means of creating knowledge for students, the school said. These trips are an important way to learn about new concepts outside of the classroom. Going on a virtual field trip is about more than a fun day out. It allows children to discover new topics and examine different points of view, teachers opined.
The videos were engaging and informative. The students were mesmerized from the moment they began watching. It was exciting for the students to tour around the world with just a click of a mouse.
The goal was to use technology to take students and educators to places they probably will never get to see first- hand. The students were excited and inspired by something experimental. Students got a behind-the-scenes look at NASA without leaving the classrooms. This virtual field trip allowed teachers to bring NASA to their students and explore places they wouldn’t have physical access to otherwise.
