Visakhapatnam: The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation has decided to serve notice for confiscation of the Telugu Desam Party city office after the latter failed to pay property tax in spite of repeated notices.
The TDP office, located in the heart of the city near Ramnagar, is due Rs.27 lakh property tax for the year 2020-21. However, it paid only Rs.10 lakh after which the GVMC officials sought payment of Rs.17 lakh which was still due.
When there was no response from the TDP, the GVMC has decided to confiscate the property.
The TDP leaders explained that the delay was due to the fact they had sought revision of the property tax as it was very high.
