Vishnu National Surveying Competition 2026 begins at BVRIT with 56 teams

The two-day Vishnu National Surveying Competition-2026 began at BVRIT in Medak on Tuesday, with 56 student teams from 27 engineering colleges across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka participating in events focused on surveying skills, field measurements and modern techniques

Medak: The two-day Vishnu National Surveying Competition–2026 (VNSC-2026), organised by BV Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT) commenced on Tuesday. The competition has witnessed participation from 56 student teams representing 27 engineering colleges from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

The competition was designed to assess students’ technical and practical skills in surveying, field measurements and modern surveying techniques. It would also provide students with an opportunity to apply the concepts learnt in classrooms to real-world situations and gain hands-on experience.

Addressing the students, Venkateswara Rao Balusu, Global Solutions Director–Highways, Jacobs Solutions India, emphasised that accuracy, reliability and responsibility were extremely important in surveying. He advised civil engineering students to develop a strong foundation in the fundamental principles of surveying.

He further stated that, with increasing global emphasis on infrastructure development and sustainability, there were extensive career opportunities for civil Engineers in areas such as design, structural engineering, environmental engineering and sustainability.

NHAI Project Director Y Madhavi explained that the internship opportunities will be available to B.Tech civil engineering students in NHAI. She appreciated the participation of a large number of women students in the competition and encouraged students to develop a deeper understanding of surveying equipment and technologies and gain direct field experience.
