Viswak Reddy and Bhrithi Velladandi clinch under-16 titles at AITA tennis

Viswak Reddy of Telangana and Bhrithi Velladandi of Karnataka won the under-16 singles titles at the AITA Championship Series tennis tournament in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Viswak Reddy of Telangana and Bhrithi Velladandi of Karnataka won the boys and girls under-16 singles titles respectively in the AITA Championship Series tennis tournament at Lake View Tennis Academy here on Friday.

In the boys final, Viswak defeated Sujai Pothula 6-4, 6-1, while Bhrithi notched up a 7-5, 6-2 win against Andhra Pradesh’s Lekhya Sri.

In the under-14 boys final, local lad Aarush Reddy clinched honours by defeating teammate Zaayn Mohamed 6-3, 6-2, while another local player G Aneeksha Reddy recorded a 6-1, 6-3 win against Vara Anuha in the girls under-14 final.

Under-14: Aarush Reddy bt Zaayn Mohamed 6-3, 6-2.

Under-16: Viswak Reddy bt Sujai Pothula 6-4, 6-1.

Doubles: Rithvik Ravi (Kar) & Garv Wadvani (Maha) bt Uday Yasaswi Reddy & K Rishik (TG) 6-4, 6-4.

Girls:

Under-14: G Aneeksha Reddy bt Vara Anuha 6-1, 6-3.

Under-16: Bhrithi Velladandi (Kar) bt Lekhya Sri (AP) 7-5, 6-2.

Doubles: Anniya Thamineni & Annika Thammineni (TG) bt Harithiswari & Harinitha Sree (TN) 6-3, 6-1.
