VIT tops among institutions of India in engineering and technology

Seven subjects of VIT were in the list published by QS Subject Rankings this year, the VIT said on Friday.

Hyderabad: Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, has been ranked one among the top 12 institutions of India in engineering and technology, and within the top 450 universities in the world as per QS Subject Rankings, 2021, according to a press release.

Seven subjects of VIT were in the list published by QS this year, the VIT said on Friday.

Four subjects namely Computer Science & Information Systems, Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Mechanical Engineering and Chemistry have moved up 50 positions as compared to last year, it said, adding that among them, Computer Science & Information Systems and EEE were ranked within the top 10 in India.

The EEE was ranked within top 300, both Computer Science & Information Systems and Mechanical Engineering were ranked within the top 400 in the world, the VIT said.

Mathematics and Biological Sciences have entered in QS Subject Rankings for the first time and were ranked within top 500 and 600 in the world respectively, the press release added.
