Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy on Saturday asked the people to elect TRS candidates as councilors in the municipal elections for execution of developmental works without any hurdles. “Development and beautification works will take place in Nakrekal Municipality if you elect TRS candidates,” he said.

The Minister, accompanied by State Legislative Council Vice-Chairman Nethi Vidhyasagar, Nakrekal MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah and the TRS incharge for the district Thakkenapalli Ravinder Rao, campaigned in 4th, 19th and 20th wards of Nakrekal for the April 30 election.

Jagdish Reddy said Nakrekal major gram panchayat was upgraded into a municipality by the State government, which would bring more funds to develop amenities and infrastructure in the town. “The opposition leaders have been intentionally creating hurdles for development works in the State, but you should not give them any scope to hinder development of Nakrekal,” he said.

Pointing out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had designed the welfare schemes to ensure that the benefits directly reach the genuine beneficiaries without any middlemen, he said the State government has been implementing the welfare schemes irrespective of politics and also benefitting leaders of opposition parties. “In erstwhile Congress governments, the benefits of welfare schemes were meant only for party members,” he added.

Successive governments in undivided Andhra Pradesh intentionally neglected the agriculture sector and welfare of farmers which led to suicides by farmers, he said, adding that the pro-farmers policies of the TRS government after State formation had, however, restored the past glory to the farming community and made agriculture a profitable venture.

He told that investment support scheme Rythu Bandhu, insurance scheme Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Vedikas and irrigation facility for two crops have completely changed the financial condition of the farmers, which shown a positive impact on the rural economy.

He said that Rythu Bandhu scheme has succeeded in avoiding the farmers to approach private money lenders for expenditure of the cultivation.

He alleged that leaders of opposition parties were trying to misguide the voters of Nakrekal to get votes in the elections. The people should vote for TRS in the elections, if they really want the development and beautification of the town, he added.

Chirumathi Lingaiah exuded confidence that the TRS would definitely capture chairman post of the municipality by winning the majority of wards.
