Nalgonda: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Tuesday said that voting for Congress candidate K Jana Reddy in the Nagarjuna Sagar bye-elections would be waste as the latter failed to develop the constituency during his 35 years term as MLA including his term as Minister.
During the election campaign at Lingampally of Peddavoora mandal in Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency for the victory of TRS candidate Nomula Bhagath here, Srinivas Yadav said that Jana Reddy had never cared for development of Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency even during the tenure of Congress government in undivided Andhra Pradesh.
He urged people to think twice whether voting to the Opposition candidate Jana Reddy would be of any use when the TRS government was ruling the State. “Jana Reddy did not develop the constituency even during his tenure as a Minister and voting for him in the bye-election will not serve any purpose. Instead, people should vote for TRS candidate Bhagath who is a young and educated leader, for development of the constituency,” he said.
Stating that the TRS was committed to develop the Nagarjuna Sagar constituency, the Minister said people should elect Bhagath in the bye-elections for continuation of development of the Assembly constituency. He stated that the Nagarjuna Sagar constituency has witnessed significant development in the last few years due to the special focus laid by the Chief Minister.
He reminded that the TRS government has brought past glory to agriculture sector, which was neglected in united Andhra Pradesh. Due to the initiatives of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the benefits of welfare schemes were directly reaching all eligible persons in the State, he added.
Government Whip and Chennur MLA Balka Suman exuded confidence that the TRS candidate would get landslide victory in the bye-elections to Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency. He predicted that candidates of the Opposition parties would lose their deposits in the bypolls. He said Jana Reddy who held several posts in the successive Congress government for several decades, failed to provide assured irrigation facility to ayacut of left canal under Nagarjuna Sagar project, and has no moral right even to campaign. He stated that huge response from public attending the TRS meetings, gave a clear indication of the party’s victory in the bypolls, he added.
Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav said that Jana Reddy has no respect toward democracy. His comments were like insulting the voters of Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency. Reminding that Jana Reddy faced a bitter defeat in the hands of G Rammurthy Yadav in 1994 elections, he exuded confidence that the same thing would repeat in the by-elections also.
TRS candidate Nomula Bhagath urged people of Nagarjuna Sagar constituency to cast their vote for TRS and give a befitting answer to the allegations levelled by the Opposition parties against the TRS government and the Chief Minister. He said people were hating the cheap politics being enacted by the Congress and the BJP leaders for votes. He urged people to bless him and cast their vote to TRS.
