‘Vriksharchana’ to mark KCR’s birthday celebrations; BRS leaders urge people to plant saplings

Hyderabad: Highlighting the need for transforming the State into a green Telangana in true spirit with the concept and vision behind the Haritha Haram campaign launched by BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, BRS leaders on Tuesday called upon the people to celebrate his birthday by participating in the ‘Vriksharchana’ programme being launched on the occasion.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao urged everyone to plant at least three saplings on February 17. He emphasized that planting and nurturing these saplings would be the best birthday gift to Chandrashekhar Rao.
It would symbolise the people’s commitment to his vision of Haritha Haram. Former MP J Santosh Kumar launched the ‘Vriksharchana’ initiative while a poster for the initiative was unveiled by Rama Rao in the presence of MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, BRS office secretary and former Rajya Sabha member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, former MLAs Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, Bigala Ganesh, Shankar Nayak, and Green India Challenge co-founder Raghava.
Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao highlighted the importance of the green initiative and encouraged everyone to take responsibility for planting and caring for the saplings in support of Chandrashekhar Rao’s dedication to environmental sustainability.
He lauded party general secretary and former MP Santosh Kumar for his efforts in organizing the Vriksharchana initiative and emphasized the collective effort needed to make Telangana and India greener.
Santosh Kumar expressed hope that the initiative would bring in widespread participation in the Vriksharchana programme. He urged everyone to join hands in this green mission and contribute to the State’s environmental goals.
