Vvaan: Sidharth Malhotra film earns Rs 9.60 crore on opening day

New Delhi: “Vvaan – Force of the Forrest”, featuring Sidharth Malhotra, has earned Rs 9.60 crore on its opening day at the domestic box office.

The film is directed by Arunabh Kumar and Deepak Mishra and is backed by Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Ltd and The Viral Fever (TVF). It was released on Friday and also features Tamannaah Bhatia alongside Malhotra.

Malhotra shared the news in a post on his Instagram handle on Saturday, which featured the film’s poster. “A new rise at the box office. Rs 9.60 crore GBOC India. ‘VVAAN’ in cinemas now,” read the text on it.

The film revolves around a rational Mumbai-based engineer named Rishi (Malhotra) and his wife, Mamta (Bhatia), as they travel to his ancestral village in Devanchal, Bihar, around the time of Chhath Puja.

Actors Sunil Grover, Avtar Gill and Anup Soni round out the cast. It also marks the first collaboration between Bhatia and Malhotra. The film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.
