Hyderabad: Shrivalli Rashmika Bhamidipaty shocked top-seeded Hanna Chang in the first round of the WTA Tour W75 Sumter tennis championship in South Carolina on Thursday.
The Hyderabad girl notched an impressive 3-6,6-3,6-3 win after being down 1-2 in the final set.
In doubles, Rashmikaa and her American partner upset second-seed Ayana Aoli and Dalayna Hewitt of the USA 7-6(6), 6-4 to enter the quarterfinals.
