Hyderabad: Startups and entrepreneurs can now get an opportunity to secure an all-expense-paid trip to Silicon Valley, a global centre of technological innovation and entrepreneurship. The Wadhwani Foundation and National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) announced the launch of Wadhwani Takeoff Programme that provides aspiring entrepreneurs with an opportunity to learn from the Silicon Valley startup ecosystem.
The programme will give shortlisted participants extensive exposure to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Valley through networking exposure with entrepreneurs, mentorship by business leaders and entrepreneurs, and an opportunity to pitch ideas to investors.
Wadhwani Foundation COO Sanjay Shah said, “The Wadhwani TakeOff programme seeks to attract many more into the entrepreneurship fold by providing the incentive and an opportunity to be able to rub shoulders with the very best of entrepreneurs, mentors and investors in the Silicon Valley.”
The programme will encourage students already enrolled in the NEN entrepreneurship course and will also motivate new students to enroll. Those eligible for the programme will end up with a commercially viable idea/venture and get certification by an independent global jury. They will eventually get selected for the all-expense-paid Silicon Valley trip.
Wadhwani NEN course enrolments in the two phases wherein the first phase of enrolment will happen from January to June and the first trip planned is in August/September. The second phase will happen from July to December and trip is being planned in February/March 2023.
