War 2 review: Big action but weak storyline
War 2 brings Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR together in a stylish action drama spanning several countries. While Jr NTR impresses and the action is slick, the predictable plot and weak emotional connect make it less gripping than expected.

Hyderabad: Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) returns for another dangerous mission, this time teaming up with Vikram (Jr NTR). Their job is to stop a global threat that could put India’s security at risk. The chase takes them across several countries, with enemies hiding behind politics, money, and power. But as they get closer to the truth, they realise not everyone is who they seem, and trust becomes the hardest part of the mission.
How is the Film?
The movie looks grand and starts with some excitement, but the story doesn’t hold strong. The first half builds interest, but the second half drags. There are good action scenes, but they can’t hide the fact that the plot is predictable and offers nothing new. For all the travelling and scale, the drama feels flat.
Cast
Hrithik Roshan looks stylish and handles the action well. Jr NTR is easily the heart of the film, he brings intensity, charm, and raw power as Vikram Chelapathi, stealing many scenes from start to finish. His screen presence lifts even the weaker moments, and his emotional expressions make his character more relatable than the script allows. Kiara Advani has a few nice moments but doesn’t get much to do. Ashutosh Rana delivers his part well and Anil Kapoor’s short role is good. Saba Azad and others are fine but don’t get much screen time.
Technical Aspects
Ayan Mukerji’s direction keeps the film visually impressive and the action well-paced, but the focus is more on showcasing the stardom of Hrithik and Jr NTR than on delivering a strong story. The writing feels weak, and the emotional connect is missing. On the technical side, the cinematography beautifully captures the exotic locations, the background score adds energy, and the action choreography is slick. However, the heavy CGI at times looks artificial, and the editing in the second half could have been tighter.
Final Verdict
War 2 is high on style but low on story. It’s worth a watch for Jr NTR’s powerful performance and the big-scale action, but don’t expect a gripping spy thriller.
