Warangal: A team of Government Railway Police (GRP) led by Sub-Inspector Ch Parashuramulu arrested two peddlers and seized 65 kgs of dry ganja worth Rs 6.50 lakh from them during a special checking in Konark Express on Wednesday.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Feroz of Hooghly in West Bengal State, and Poorna Khosla of Koraput district in the Odisha State. It was alleged that the accused were smuggling the cannabis from Vizianagaram to Mumbai. “The accused were travelling in an AC compartment of the train. They were asked to board off the train at Warangal railway station, and questioned about the illegal activity. They have confessed to the offence before the witnesses (Panchulu),” the SI said in a press note. GRP CI G Naresh has registered a case and produced them before a court.
