Warangal man held for harassing girl on social media

Jannu Kalyan (22), an auto driver from Warangal, sent friend request to girls on Facebook and after befriending them, collected their pictures from their profile

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Cybercrime police arrested one person on charges of stalking a girl and harassing her by sending inappropriate images.

Jannu Kalyan (22), an auto driver from Warangal, sent friend request to girls on Facebook and after befriending them, collected their pictures from their profile. He later morphed those pictures and sent those to them over phone, threatening them to make nude phone calls to him, failing which he would publish the morphed pictures. He also recorded video calls,” said S Harinath, ACP (Cybercrime), Rachakonda.

Kalyan was arrested following a complaint from a girl he had befriended on Facebook and got close in similar fashion through Instagram. He was produced before court and remanded.
