MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy interacting with the ANMs and ASHA workers about the Fever survey.
Warangal Rural: TRS MLA from Narsampet Peddi Sudarshan Reddy has urged people to cooperate with the government in enforcing the lockdown in a strict manner to check the spread of COVID in the second wave. “The government is taking all steps to provide treatment to patients by improving the facilities at the PHCs and CHCs in the district,” he said.
The MLA, along with ZPTC and local people’s representatives inspected the PHC at Chennaraopet mandal headquarters in the district on Sunday. He inquired with the medical officer and other staff about the number of Rapid Antigen Tests being conducted at the PHC, availability of medical kits for home isolation patients and expressed happiness over the performance of the PHC.
Asking the staff to ensure the people infected by COVID-19 must be in home isolation for 15 days, he urged the people to make use of the free isolation facility set up at Narsampet in front of his camp office for the COVID patients. Interacting with the COVID-19 patients, he asked them to be brave to defeat the disease. He also visited the PHCs at Nekkonda and Alamkanipet villages.
In Venkatapuram village in Nekkonda mandal, he inspected the ‘fever survey’ being conducted to identify the COVID suspects and interacted with the ANMs and ASHA workers about the survey. Meanwhile, the MLA said that a total of 40 oxygen beds were made available for the COVID patients at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Narsampet.
“Moreover, we are trying to make 10 ICU beds available at the CHCs for the COVID patients as two NRIs- Midiyala Sudhakar Rao and Tumoola Venkat- have come forward to provide financial assistance to get the ICU beds. The ICU services will be available for the patients in about 10 days,” he said and added that there was no shortage of oxygen or Remdesivir injections at the Narsampet CHC. As of now, 15 to 18 patients are provided with oxygen at the CHC, he added.
