Warangal police arrest inter-State ganja smuggler, seize ganja worth Rs 1.25 crore
Warangal commissionerate police arrested an inter-State ganja smuggler in Hanamkonda and seized 251 kg of ganja worth around Rs 1.25 crore. Police said the accused supplied ganja to buyers across Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Hanamkonda: Warangal commissionerate police have arrested an inter-State ganja smuggler and seized 251 kg of ganja from him.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Commissioner of Police N Swetha informed that, under the supervision of East Zone DCP Ankit Kumar, Damera police took the accused, Mudigonda Nageshwar Rao of Pulukurthy village in Damera mandal of Hanamkonda district, into custody.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused used his network to purchase ganja from suppliers Ramesh and Sudhakar in Odisha. He then sold it to buyers Urdu, Ramdas Shesharao Biradar, Akleem, Shahrukh Khan, Shaik Akbar and Nunavath Raju across Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Acting on information provided by Nageshwar Rao, the police seized ganja worth around Rs 1.25 crore from his residence. Special teams have been formed to apprehend the other accused from various States who had purchased ganja from Nageshwar Rao, the CP said.
The Telangana police department has been taking a very strict stance against both the trafficking and consumption of narcotics, Swetha said, while appealing to the public to cooperate in curbing the drug menace by informing the local police if they come across anyone involved in the sale or consumption of ganja.
She commended Parkal ACP Sathish Babu, Shayampet CI Sudhakar Reddy, Atmakur CI Santhosh, Damera SI Veerabhadra Rao, Shayampet SI Parameshwar, Parkal SI Raghupathi, as well as AAO Salman Pasha and the constables from Damera and Shayampet for nabbing the accused.
