Warangal: The Open House, an expo of weapons used by police personnel, organised by the city police as part of the Police Martyrs’ Week drew huge crowds here on Friday.
Scores of students from various educational institutions made a beeline at the police commissionerate to have a glimpse of different kinds of weapons, bomb disposal equipment, fingerprinting equipment and communication gadgets. Commissioner of Police Amber Kishor Jha inaugurated the open house.
The sacrifices made by the police personnel in the call of duty should not go waste and each of them would be remembered for their bravery, the Police Commissioner said.
A wide range of arms, including light machine guns, sophisticated rifles, devices used in detection of bombs and other explosive substances were displayed at the venue. The policemen demonstrated handling of weapons and explained the uses of weapons in detail to the visitors. A team of policemen informed the students how they, their families, and friends could protect themselves against cyber crimes by taking precautions.
