Warangal: Prof Suresh Lal takes charge as HoD of Economics department at KU
Prof Lal, who is currently working as Professor of Economics and Chair of the Department of Economics, Kakatiya University, has 25 years of active teaching and research experience.
Warangal Urban: Prof B Suresh Lal assumed charge as Head of the Department of Economics (HOD), Kakatiya University (KU), Warangal, here on Tuesday. He will hold the post for two years.
Prof Lal, who is currently working as Professor of Economics and Chair of the Department of Economics, Kakatiya University, has 25 years of active teaching and research experience. He is a reputed scholar on Environmental and Development Economics. He is serving as Editor to the International Journal of Environment & Development and Editorial Board Member of 42 International Journals. He has authored 20 books and edited and published 120 articles besides completing five research projects. Prof Lal guided 15 Ph.D and M.Phil scholars.
Earlier, Prof Lal worked as Head Department of Economics, Programme Coordinator NSS, Kakatiya University, Coordinator SDLCE PG study centre and Joint Director Hostels. Prof Lal is a Fellow of International Academy of Social Sciences, USA, and International Society for Ecological Communication Poland. He is a jury member of the Global Undergraduate Awards, Ireland, and extensively toured 20 countries on academic assignments.
Prof. Lal received 47 various awards, honours and citations. They include Indira Gandhi National NSS Award by the president of India and Best Teacher Award in 2020 from the State government. On this occasion faculty members Dr Sadu Rajesh, research scholars and students of the department congratulated him.
