Warangal: Three youths arrested for smoking ganja, 3 more at large

Warangal: On receiving credible information about sales or consumption of the dry ganja, the Task Force team apprehended three youths at the Station Ghanpur bus station and seized approximately 300 grams of dry ganja, OCB rolling paper packets (7) used to smoke ganja and three mobile phones from their possession on Sunday.

According to a press note released here on Monday by the Task Force, the arrested persons revealed that they had purchased two kilograms of ganja packet from one Khadar of Kapuwada, Hanamkonda, who is now lodged in Khammam jail, and Duddula Rajashekar of Zaffarghadh village and divided it into small cover sachets containing 50 grams or 100 grams and selling the same to Rs 300 to Rs 500 per packet to friends, youths and other needy persons at high prices apart from smoking some of it.

The arrested, who were identified as Goppa Sai Krishna, (22), a Degree I-year student, of Police Quarters Zaffergadh PS, Akula Sai Rahul ( 21 ), a Degree student, of Hanamkonda, and Radapaka Kavichander (22), an auto-driver, of Thammadapalli village of Zaffergadh mandal. The Task Force police said that they had handed over the seized property and the arrested to Station Ghanpur police for further action.

Three other drug abusers Md Khadar (24) of Alankar junction in Hanamkonda, Duddula Rajashekar (23) of Waddegudem near Zaffarghad village and one Sai of Ippagudem village of Station Ghanpur mandal are absconding.
All the accused are habitual offenders, and cases under the NPDS Act, PDPP Act and other sections of IPC were already registered against them at various police stations under Warangal Police commissionerate limits, according to Task Force ACP Vaibhav Raghunath Gaikwad.
